When it comes to dealing with narcissists, the worst thing you can do to a narcissist in terms of eliciting a reaction is certainly their ego. If you injure their ego in any manner, they will retaliate violently and quickly. Narcissists have highly dubious self-esteem. They rely on the approval of others to feel good. They put on a phony mask and go in search of it, building their ego brick by brick. Although narcissists behave superior to others and present themselves as beyond reproach, their deepest concerns lie underneath their grandiose exteriors: that they are defective, illegitimate, and ordinary.

There is not a single answer for that. However, simply allowing them to take control all over your or other people’s lives, it’s a terrible choice. Even though there might be a lot of stress when confronting a narcissist, that is important for everyone’s health. If there are no limits, the narcissistic person might turn their fantasies in a sort of reality, as people comply with his or her ideas.
